It's been a long time coming, and I've changed us over from vBulletin to Xenforo. I was planning to do this next year, but the longer we wait, the harder it will be, and I'm confident that these changes will improve the site experience for the members.
What we gain:
-Better mobile site
-Faster performance
-More secure
-Cleaner design (IMO)
-More stable software
-Better image handling (auto sizing, etc)
What is broken and will be fixed:
-HTML support in forum posts - high priority for me to fix
-Subscriptions
-Some smilies
-Buy/sell feedback (not lost, will be restored)
-Other stuff (tell me)
What is missing:
-Right column Recent Discussions
-Ability to use templates to post in Buy & Sell
-Other stuff (tell me)
Subscribing members, please cancel your recurring donations. To do so, go to the Profile drop-down menu at Paypal and select "My Money". Where it shows "pre-approved payments", click update at the right. Then select Virginia Sabet and select cancel.
The reason I'm asking this is that subscriptions don't carry over from the old software to this one. I have to figure out how to do subscriptions with this software. In the meanwhile, I figure that if everyone cancels payments now and I keep everyone's donor status active for a year from after everyone has been notified by email (not yet sent), then I'm not shorting anyone.
