I couldn't find an "open" skies thread, so thought I'd make one. If I've missed it, then someone will no doubt tell me the error or my ways!

And a little piece of useful information: The "search" function is much more useful if you let it "guess" while typing - you often get much more accurate and relevant results - some of Kevin's magic at work there. The standard search (fill in the words, hit "enter") can be pretty useless, especially for common subjects and words.

I'm sure Paul started the thread having missed the clouds thread, this sort of thing is very common if you search for one term & the item you're after is listed using a related term. The number of interesting shots of skies without clouds will probably be quite low or just have the clear sky as a background to something else. A shot of a bird or plane against a clear sky isn't really a sky shot IMO.

Going through my other readily available 'sky' shots I find there can't be more than a few without clouds, even this star shot has them in one of the areas of interest!
