these guys fly around my local piece of coastal paradise in Sydney... I just love their freedom to glide on invisible columns of air....

Not an expression I have heard for a long time - I served in the Brit Airborne Forces and we used to call the Padres that would occasionally join us on training jumps "Sky Pilots"........thanks for the memory.

Eric Burden and The Animals did a track called Sky Pilots, still one of my all time favourites... It is about those Padres...
Have a listen, well worth it.
