Something I have been experimenting with recently using my Panny FZ2000 superzoom bridge camera (1" sensor, does that count as small?), water droplets on Dandelion seeds. I’ve already posted a few other results on the ‘Show Macro’ thread earlier today but they were all single shots, these two images are my first ever attempts at focus stacked images, done using the in camera stacking option. They are uncropped but were taken using an achromat filter (Marumi’s are my favourite). Personally I prefer the single frame images as they have a more ‘ethereal’ feel to them, but I was still pleasantly surprised by what the camera achieved. I’m a huge fan of superzoom bridge cameras.

Though it's probably true of all sensors to some degree, with tiny sensors it's very true that the distance to the subject, and the subject from the background, makes all the difference between results.
The first photo of a Painted Button Quail was taken through the windscreen from far away with the bird among the shaded undergrowth; the second photo of Mistletoe bird was taken a few metres away in a tree beside my home. I know which result I prefer, but at least I was able to identify the quail from the photo.

Cross-posted in the Small Town Vibes thread, but I'm including it here simply because getting this kind of image from a camera with such a tiny sensor makes me happy.
