I have previously owned a fuji bridge camera and liked the image quality and couloirs the fuji produces. Over the past two years have wanted to simplify what I carry with me when I go out on a photography outing. In looking at bridge cameras my final choice came down to the xs1 or the Nikon P510. Sadly Nikon did not provide provision for using filters so that was a big no for the Nikon. I was almost put off by the tales of the orbs produced by the sensor, but having looked at a number of images produced by the camera, decided to take a chance on it. So far I have been very pleased with the results.

according to DPReview's tests, the new sensor has no orbs and retains all of the great image quality. nice shots!

I believe they have offered to replace the sensors in the xs1's as well. Not sure if mine has the new sensor, however not experienced any issues as yet. One image has some fairly harsh highlights, but nothing to be overly bothered by.

very nice shots! Thanks for sharing!
I had an XS-1 in my hands a few weeks ago. Was quite surprised how nice and big the electronic viewfinder is. Definitely an interesting camera for me.

This is something that interests me. I find the tiny EVF in most bridge cameras frustrating at best, and often end up just using the LCD. If the XS-1 is big and bright, it may just be my solution (mind you, not having much luck shifting the FZ-100)
