I just edited a few pics from Tyonek Alaska a couple of days ago. Some are pretty good and some are not so good, but there are some pretty good eagle images. I took these with my old FZ50, which was considered to be pretty good for it's day I suppose.:D

I don't know much about the older camera, but the pics of the eagles are wonderful. Even zoomed in to the close up of the eagle in the tree , the detail captured is amazing! As a subscriber to the Unalaska Police Blotter..always interesting and a voyeur into the lives and times of America's last frontier..I always find your pics interesting! You and your wife certainly live very interesting lives..far more varied than what, I am personally use to experiencing. Thanks for sharing the glimpses into your lives through your pictures.

Yes, that is a WW2 era Grumman Goose, the same plane type as was in the old TV series Fantasy Island, where the little guy comes running out in the beginning shouting "The Plane, the plane!" I got a lot of shots of it. And the eagles where everywhere. The FZ50 could take some great pics if the light was just right.

Fantastic, thanks for the extra shots. That old model was one of my favourites, I couldn't believe it when I saw your photographs, the years just rolled away.

PS, I've had a wonderful evening on the internet tracing the history of the Grumman Goose and that particular aircraft, thank you so much for your posting.

Ricky, these are wonderful - thanks so much. Where you in Alaska this past summer? I'm with Karen, you definitely have variety in your life - great scenery and subject matter.:2thumbs:

No, these image were all taken in 2009. We are settled in Texas now, thank goodness. And the DMC-FZ50 was the holy grail of bridge cameras at one time. I'm getting the old camera back now too.
