St. Louis Cemetery, New Orleans, LA

Location
Memphis
Name
Brent
Toured St. Louis Cemetery, #1, last week. A couple things I learned are: the structures were designed with a liner that intensifies heat to speed up decomposition and, the pyramid shaped tomb, according to our guide, belongs to actor Nicholas Cage. The Latin maxim, Omnia Ab Uno translates to "Everything From One". I was struck by the decaying and chaotic array balanced by the haunting beauty. I didn't get the sense there was a strong effort underway to tidy up the place, seems it is accepted as part of the New Orleans experience.

Thank you Bobby. The problem is they will not let you walk around inside. You have to be with a tour group. There are several tour groups inside at one time. They are too large. So you are constantly moving and unable to spend any time exploring and setting up things you find interesting. I was reprimanded several times by the tour guide for lagging behind lol.
