Römisches Theater Mainz
An old Roman theater that is currently still being excavated after centuries of being dismantled, buried, excavated and buried again. It is a shame that when the station was built it covered part of the theater but I guess that’s progress… To me it is very interesting to see how far the Roman Empire stretched, pretty amazing when you think about controlling that amount of territory without the transportation and communications we have today.

In the run up to Christmas, the KWVR run specials into the early evening and consequently the stations are lit up. Here's the station and level crossing at Oakworth with lit gas mantle lights as the night draws in.
