Love this shot. How does it look in colour? Is the graffiti too distracting? I'm imagining that it would look quite wonderful with muted colours.
Many thanks, a nice area in colour for sure but I felt that mono focused the eye more so on the the individuals which is why I chose that (so yes, you could say the graffiti/ colours were distracting in that regard). Conversely for the below shot taken in the same vicinity, I just kept the image as it was out of camera in colour as I thought the focus should be more so on the colourful dress in relation to the just as colourful surroundings. All subjective opinions on my part of course.

Looks like he has an Uzi machine gun or a taser in his hand!

Bela & Dan, so in sync with each other. A very engaging watch at the night club.

After a day of work, I was looking for some emotions, wanted to feel something, anything ... decided to have a walk around town for some street photography. But I wanted to make it more interesting (and a bit of Robin Wong's influence) so I put the camera in JPEG only and set it to Auto (but quickly changed to Program because the camera kept missing the focus point I wanted on Waitr, kept focusing on the crosswalk or on the brick arch) and Auto ISO with 25.600 cap limit and Daylight WB (forgot to put it on Auto).

Some of the pictures are not very well exposed but if anyone is interested in them I can work on the files a bit to get the most out of them and repost them.

I wasn't sure if cropped a lot works better than cropped with a bit more outer framing so I tried both.

This gate with a lock is a bit funny because you can literally walk around it because it has no fence on the right side.

Didn't notice the guy walking up the alleyway until he was right next to me, I was focusing on the top street lamp.

Not sure if this one worked as well as I hoped. I wanted to compress the view of the alleyway (the one with the puddle) from the other side with the pub lights hanging above and waiting for someone to cross by ... but the exposure wasn't great (Centre Metering for the entire evening) and I think this one needs some exposure adjustment to work better (and it's cropped in a lot to get rid of cards and random bins, probably needed 300-400mm focal range).

@L0n3Gr3yW0lf Ovi, this is exactly when you should not have decided to shoot JPEG only. It's when having a RAW file becomes all but obligatory.

1) far more data to work with; and
2) far more latitude for editing, especially WB, without killing the photo.

Still, very nice sets of images.
I know and I agree ... I just think I might have fallen in love with making bad decisions :p

Could have shot JPEG + RAW but then it wouldn't have felt like being the Daredevil I know I am :p (a RAW shooter for 13 years).

I'm glad to see that you're getting out there and shooting. Do you feel more comfortable shooting at night? Less anxiety? I'll probably be doing the same in another month or two as the days get shorter.
