Street Street photography (Image thread)

In the company of six other photographers I spent a most enjoyable few hours yesterday bimbling around Central London with a camera in hand, honing my street photography skills.

We were led by a proper expert, the exceptional Kevin Mullins, who set us a number of challenges, each designed to stretch our skills and take us out of our comfort zones. Everything we shot was in monochrome with an emphasis on light and form.

I joined the session because I felt I had got into a rut with my photography, and I wanted a kick start to revitalise my eye and my approach. Courtesy of Kevin, I certainly got what I sought, and more.

Big thanks to Mr Mullins and to my fellow photographers whose unfailingly good humour also helped to make the day.

The shots I'm sharing here are my "best of the day", some taken before we started, and some on various set themes.

If you get a chance to join Kevin in the future on another session, don't hesitate. I guarantee you will learn a lot and thoroughly enjoy yourself into the bargain!

A truly superb series, Bill.
And...I just have to echo what you said-- Kevin Mullins is simply one of the great living photographers - and the fact that you were able to take a workshop with him, and spend time with him, is... well, it's truly cool. I can only imagine that the ripple effect, so to speak, of getting some words of wisdom from Mr. Mullins... will last for quite awhile.
Thank you for sharing these... I personally find them not just cool, but inspirational.
