This guy was sitting here in his wheelchair waiting for the 4th of July Parade to start in Fairfax last year. His daughter in law was next to him and we got to chatting and this was the first time he had gotten out of the senior facility or seen his family in about 18 months.
So, I asked him if I could take his photo and I got this big smile:

A lucky shot today. I spotted this man in black stop in front of this black wall but he was across the street and as usual I was shooting with a 35 equiv lens and needed to get closer. But there was a lull in the traffic so I walked across the road toward him and as I started shooting, he tilted his head to light a cigarette.
