Street Street photography (Image thread)

Oh my goodness! (Or words to that effect  )

I'm not a prude or anything, but look at what a totally inappropriate outfit can do to a lass with such a beautiful body!!

Could be worse....at least she's not plastered with "artwork".

I've drilled the idea into my daughters that tats are going to look horrible on their wedding photos and thoroughly vile and blurry when they are about 40+.

The youngsters round here are covered in the damned things.

Totally agree, @RichardC

Or when you need an MRI that you cannot have because of the metal oxides in the tattoo will cause the MRI machine to rip your tattoos off ...

Richard, it's bad enough getting anyone to do one on me, because I have an artificial mitral valve, a pacemaker and two pacemaker leads that go from the pacemaker to my heart. All of these are MRI compatible and I carry those cards with me at all times. The technicians still will not do MRI scans because of them ...

I had another chance at street photography in Taunton, though it was from the failure to trade in some items in the hopes of raising enough money for a Sony a7 IV, or III (if I didn't have enough) or a7C (if the first two were not going to happen).

This little street always makes me hungry but I never had the courage to go in and try Hong Kong street food.

Under the street lamp, you can always see the screen better.

I cropped in a lot because that deer just wouldn't stop me from giggling.

The darn vegetation on the edge of the river makes it annoying to get a good composition.

I can't wait for more night shots, maybe start using the bloody tripod if I can find it under all the dust it's covered on.

But this shot blew my socks off because it's exactly how I saw it and getting it handheld in the dark is more than I expected from the Sony IBIS.

Observation, for some reason the mechanical shutter gives me sharper images and more of them than then electronic shutter under the 1/Focal Length rule.

Another image that just blew my socks was that it got the exposure representing the moment exactly how I hoped.

I have never seen steaming manholes outside of movies from/of New York ... it was quite an interesting subject and a challenge to get it right.

Smoking is bad for'yah but it makes it pretty, so, thanks?

@L0n3Gr3yW0lf Ovi, the reciprocal rule is a hangover from film photography. It's not really suitable for digital photography.

With the (much) higher resolution available with digital photography, a better rule is 1/(2x FL), or taking the crop factor into account (actual angle of view ... ), 1/((crop factor) x 2 x FL)).

Of course, IBIS/ILIS/sync-IS changes all that to one degree or another.
