Fuji Stuck Filter Solution

From time to time I have had to deal with stuck filters/step-up-rings and it isn’t fun. I have read about ways to un-stick them from using ice cubes to blow torches and trying to release one can be daunting. So I thought I would try to find something that might prevent them from sticking in the first case. I needed something that would not be oily, not migrate and repel dirt. I went to Ace Hardware and bought a 4 oz bottle of DuPont Teflon Non-Stick Dry-Film Lubricant (Part #DNS040101/DNS104101) for $5 and have been testing it for the last month. I use it sparingly and have found that it seems to work. I haven’t had any real issues with any stuck filters or step-up-rings. I’ve had one that was slightly hard to unscrew but only needed moderate effort to undo. As a bonus I have found that several of my “less expensive” step-up-rings that used to feel gritty now go on as smooth as silk.
