Wife decided to try and catch the sunset at our cross country ski spot, up near Mt Hood. We sorta made it - had to ski FAST to climb a hill to get a view. By then it was all burning red light on the opposite hills, nothing much left. But it was incredibly pretty.

They close the warming hut at 5, but they didn't actually lock it, so we stoked the fire a tiny bit and ate / played cards / warmed up for a bit in the quiet before skiing out.

I can't really describe how much better it was with eyeballs. Just a firey line across the valley, that when you looked close, was made of tens of thousands of trees.
