"Hämmerplatz" literally means "space for hammering" - this is a classic "adventure playground" as they have existed since the 1970s.

The hämmerplatz is such a cool concept as a space for kids. It's a shame that we can't adopt something like this here in the US. Instead basically the only officially sanctioned places for children's play that we develop consist of playground structures built to rigorous safety codes and produced by a tiny handful of corporate entities.

Same BS here in Australia, Keith. As if kids are going to EAT CCA pine!!

A scientist worked out that one would have to eat about a 2m x 100mm post in order to ingest the amount of the toxic ingredients required to get one up to the allowable levels! The clowns at the local council and state government levels probably do not even understand what a MSDS is, let alone what it actually means ...
