I was invited to shoot a charity Thai Boxing event last evening. I had the X-T1 with 16mm and 5d Mk3 with 17-40L lens and 100-400L (just in case it was useful)
Neither w/a lens's had IS on them, so my Parkinson's tremor means they are not as sharp as they could be........but probably quite acceptable from a distance.
Much more difficult to shoot than one would imagine, what with the speed of the opponents, them facing the wrong way when hitting or being hit or the ref getting between the opponents and your camera at the vital moment.
Some taken with flash, but did not feel comfy using it at ringside in case it affected the boxers.
I almost suffered 2 knockout blows. Due to my lack of experience in this genre I was too close to the ropes with the 5d and 100-400L lens when one of the boxers came crashing backwards and shoved the camera hard into my face. Doh.....how stoooopid can I be?
So, here goes!
