Well seems I'm the winner of the first SCSC so here we go with the next Salon. As curator I've set the Theme as "My Favourite Place".

You will have two weeks to enter an image and at close at Midnight on Friday July 20th (New York time). Please continue the great spirit engendered by the first SCSC and preferably create a new image of your favourite place (of course older images are still eligible).

You favourite place may be at home or at work (??) or maybe your favourite fishing spot or landscape.

As per the format the rules are as follows.

1. Either take a picture that matches the nominated theme or select one from your portfolio. You must be the photographer that created the picture in order to enter it.

2. There are several ways to add your photos to the current salon thread: 1. upload your entry to your SC user gallery (all entries must be present in an SC gallery), which you automatically get if you are registered on the SC forum, so if you aren`t registered you will need to if you would like to join the fun. (Don't know about the "gallery" yet? Then read this: SC Gallery FAQ please read it carefully if you are new to using the site's software.) 2. embed from Flickr or another similar web hosting photo site and 3. use the attachment method. All three are explained here:How to post images in forum threads

3. Only one entry per salon, please. If you want to withdraw an entry and replace it with another, that is OK, but you must make it clear in the post containing your replacement picture that this is what you've done. You can add or change the title and add to the edit line to let everyone know.

4. The decision of the curator at the end of the challenge is final - don't give him/her a hard time about it: this is just a friendly photo challenge, after all!

5. The person who submitted the chosen picture will assume the responsibility of curator for the next Salon Challenge and as soon as possible post a message in a new thread in the SC Photo Challenges forum, with details of the new theme. Don't forget - that opening message must include a copy of these instructions, which also double as the rules.

6. The curator can't enter his or her own salon.

7. Please, don´t be shy...Participate and have fun!

8. Each salon should be open for about two weeks.

This competition ends at midnight New York time - and in this case that will be July 20th. Happy shooting!

My favourite place is without doubt the great city of London... Even though I live in The Netherlands I have been to London probably more than 40 times already in my life (thank you Ryanair...), and I am sure the next trip will not be far away... Anyway, here is one of my favourite pictures from my favourite city, this one taken at Canary Wharf underground train station....

OK, you all who have yet to ante up with your "favourite place" or as we Yanks spell it "favorite" place! T minus 5 1/2 hours till closing.;)

I just love the Outer Banks of NC and though this is far from my most scenic or dramatic shot, it's one of my most recent. Alas, we shall not be going down this year...at least not this summer.

ah BB that's such a good image ... favourited the moment I saw it on Flickr a year ago.

Well, my favourite place to be is 200 miles away, but this is an image of what's become a favourite place to photograph ... I've been snapping this location for about 6 years, in all seasons, with a variety of cameras and lenses ... this is very recent, with the Bessa, the 35mm Summicron with an orange K2 and XP2 Super ...

Thankyou to all who entered this Salon Challenge. There were some fine entries showing some very specisl places but the one that stood out for me was the windmill scene from Nuskyn:-

A strong composition with wonderful light and colours won me over.

I'll PM Nuskyn asking to set up SCSC 3 and we'll wait on the next challenge.
