most only know Donovan for his big hits in the late 60s. Those are great, of course. But I've really been playing his 1996 album "Sutras" a lot. Here's a taste.....
I'm a purist when it comes to country music. It was a great surprise to find this guy that was making "real" country music in the late 70s and 80s.......at least 20 years after it had gone out of style.
I used to go to Tony's gigs when he was a young bloke. Immense talent, I thought. This was written for his father, and sung at his Dad's funeral. Brought me to tears.
