Recently this Swamp Wallaby has been coming in to water at our bird bath. Typically, these solitary creatures are both docile and very easily spooked, and we've never had one be so willing to come close when we're outside. I was about 3 metres away in the hammock when I took this with my phone camera, and he was very aware of my presence.

Wallabies and kangaroos lick their paws to stay cool in the heat, which I think is what he was doing in this photo.

I lick mine to get the beer I spilled on them. That is so cool. I have to go to a zoo to see them in Canada. We've had bears in our yard at the cottage but I'll go with Wallaby's because I can box. 🙂 Bears. That's another story. Black bears. I can't remember. Do I fight back or play dead? 🤔 😃

I think I'd prefer wallabies to bears, too, because wallabies just hop away! And also, I have to go to a zoo to see bears... It's horses for courses, isn't it 😉
