The First and The Last Time...

...I saw Roy Hargrove: August 2001 and August 2018, both at the Main Stage, Newport Jazz Festival. Roy passed away unexpectedly at the age of 49 yesterday. He was part of the "Young Lions of Jazz" that arrived in the 90's; with the likes of Christian McBride, Mark Whitfield, Benny Green and Antonio Hart. RIP Roy, the Heavens have a little more soul and bop now.
