Warm sun and a new month for a solo hike in the Nature Preserve. As a challenge I took only one prime lens, the 90mm f/2 (135mm AOV).

It is always good to alter perspective in terms of seeing and photographing, and today was no exception. The longer focal length made for more close-ups and vistas, and it was interesting to try pre-visualizing what the viewfinder would show.

The stillness, solitude, vastness of the landscape, and Nature offered a deep sense of peace and well-being.

Some very different compositions there Merlin. I love the closeups of the trees - particularly no's 2, 3, 4, 11, 12 & 16.
I think you've found your 'sweet spot' lens!

Thanks very much for your kind and encouraging words! The 90mm is one terrific lens, and my favorite. But it adds about an extra 1-1/2 pounds plus bulk, and obviously a limited FOV, so carrying it on every hike is not really possible. That's where the 18-55 and X30 come in.
