Leica [the old] Voigtlaender Nokton 50mm 1.5 with M9

Raid

All-Pro
I expected yesterday a nice sunset due to a sharp drop in temperatures, so I took my M9 and SWC to one of my favorite photography locations, just outside Joe Patti's Seafood Store in Pensacola.

I will start out with the first images from the M9 and the original Nokton in Prominent mount.

Great shots- this lens is worth the idiosyncrasies...

Probably the best fast Double-Gauss of the 1950s.

And this reminds me that I can use mine with the Prominent to S-Mount adapter, then s-mount to M-mount...

Where did you find the Prominent-S adapter? This lens used to be "the best 50mm lens" of its time.

The LTM Nokton was basically the Prominent lens in a "permanent adapter". Voigtlander also made an adapter with the original lens. I've thought about adapting the lens to a focus mount, but the Amedeo adapter works well enough. It's a jewel of a lens.

I had a spare... it sold for ~$500. I spent $50 on it with the Prominent some 12 years ago. Helped pay for the M Monochrom. I also have the 35 Skoparon and 100 Dynaron. Very sharp- but no way to use them on anything but the Prominent. Most ridiculous bayonet mount ever...

I have the Skoparon but not the Dynaron. The camera designer must have had some stocks on eye care. This camera was meant to stick your finger into your eyes!

These are additional images from the M9 series from that sunset.

The light was changing quickly as the sun was setting, and I switched from vertical to horizontal images, plus, switching from pointing the lens at the West versus the East to capture different looking scenes with different light and colors. The last images posted here had hardly any post-processing. This is how the M9 renders the images.
