The 'one photo for each camera you own(ed)' thread :)

Kodak Retina IIC, 50mm F2.8 Xenon, wide-open. Not long ago, I replaced the "Cocking Rack" on this camera. Micro-Tools still sells the part. The camera was discontinued 60 years ago.

The cocking rack is the "weak Link" of the Retina series. But- they hold up in most of them. Someone has to force the advance to strip it. Easily done- as a "special feature" is for the advance to lock up when the film counter counts down to "1". Many Ebay sellers not familiar with the camera will list them as "it was working, then stopped"...

My daughter has had her picture taken with a 35mm camera from almost all of the known manufacturers. And at least 150 different lenses.

Nikon Ftn Photomic, with the Vivitar 135/2.3, wide-open. This lens features a floating element for close-range-correction, years before the camera manufacturers used them. I brought this lens with me when looking at the Nikon Df, told the salesman that he had a sale if I could use this lens with it. No problem using the lens wide-open, bought the Df.

Okay, this is most definitely the 5th of May 1993... This is my little boy James, taken on a Leica M6 and Fuji 1600 film, with a 50mm Summicron. He would have been about 15 minutes old...

I don't have shots from the first three cameras I used - a 2MP Sony that I don't even remeber the name, a 6MP HP that was fun, but really slow in operation and Canon Powershot A610 that was actually quite nice compact for it's time, but unlucky for that camera, I bought a second-hand Canon Pro1 soon after it, so it never really got a chance.

So, one from Canon Pro1:

Then I bought a second-hand Nikon D70:

Then along these two cameras I played a bit with vintage film cameras, here a Canonet GIII QL17...

I haven't used them in a long while, but they left me infatuated with old manual lenses, so after my PRo1 died, I bought Sony NEX3 and several adapters and lenses. I won't post an example for each combo; here's an image with Minolta 45mm f2:

Then I started travelling a lot to the festivals in France, many times by Wizz or EasyJet and space and weight became important, so when at the Vienna airport I stumbled on heavily discounted Sony RX100 (as new iterations were already introduced), I bought one and it was my faithful companion for several years:

I really used and abused it and last summer it started getting tired, emitting some strange noise while focusing :-( And sometimes it even whines :-( I still use it, but I guess it's just a matter of time when it will rejoin my lovely Canon Pro1 in camera heaven. So I got me an used Sony A6000 last December, and it's EVF rekindled my love for manual focusing and vintage glass :)

Now I'm toying with the idea of getting an used Fuji XT1 in good condition, for it's apparently splendid EVF :)

Oh, and I forgot - I loved the camera and filter app on my Samsung Galaxy Ace phone 9. Curiously, somehow I'm not that enchanted with my much modern phone and camera.

What a travel in time! I would have thought to find very different photos, but... it seems I've been shooting a lot of my beloved ones. Picked few examples. Then in the archive there are endless number of buildings, some cars and bikes and landscapes. But mostly people. Who had thought :)

I dumped all phone pictures, and took in only digital cameras, ILC or compacts. Some cameras obviously used more creatively and some only for quick snaps. Have fun!

First digital compact, my older daughter in her first trip to Tenerife, Spain. And now she has grown up, world citizen speaking fluently English, French, Spanish, Swedish and Finnish. Oh my....

I was a pro back in the 80 and 90s, shooting with Nikons, but that dried up on me and I left the business bitter and quit shooting all together. I picked up digital photography when I retired in 2020. Here's a selection from the cameras I've used since then and kept in my LRC catalog.
