The Oscar Meyer Weinermobile came to Medford, Oregon today... an event that I didn't want to miss. It was parked in the parking lot outside a large discount Supermarket...

It's an imposing vehicle.
Seen from the front, it looks a little like a spaceship, or a futuristic vehicle from the Jetsons... or Futurama--

A closer view reveals hot dogs - or 'wieners' on a bun - both inside as well as outside--

While from the rear, it looks a bit like a Porsche - and definitely worthy of an Oscars award--

I wasn't the only photographer avidly documenting the Wienermobile's arrival--

The official Wiener Guy himself did double duty as an event photographer when the occasion demanded (which was often)--

He seemed to be enjoying himself--

At one point, he even photographed the other photographer who put his camera down and looked at the lens from a W.E.V. - a Wiener-Eye-View---

Which of course raises the question-- Can a photographer be happy on the other side of the lens? Draw your own conclusions...

The Wiener Guy also showed me his Bologna Bag (useful, he explained, for carting multiple Wieners with all the Fixins)--

He also expounded to me on the joys of Hot Dog appreciation--

Finally, at last, before leaving, when I asked him if Vegetarians might also appreciate Weiners... I think he liked the idea.

Fantastic.

A Buddhist monk walks up to a hot dog vendor and says: "Make me one with everything."

After a brief chuckle, the vendor makes the hot dog and gives it to the monk, saying "That will be $4 please". After the monk hands over a $10 bill, he finds himself waiting uncomfortably while the vendor does nothing except stare back at him.

Eventually the monk asks, "What about my change?" "Ah," replies the hot dog vendor, "Change must come from within."

(An old joke, I'm afraid)
