The fifth season has started: carnival. The music is loud, hilarious and not necessarily pleasing the ears. This morning started with the women storming the town hall. This is from the band contest.

So every year around the holidays, because of snow day closings and extended winter break (I work in a school kitchen), one of the onions will sprout, and I then decide to cultivate it, in a soup container with wet napkins and coffee grounds. Over 3 months so far, though the bulb is rather dessicated by now.

John, so glad you asked. It's something called a dryer ball, you put it in the dryer with wet clothes and it pummels them so they don't wrinkle. It's become a granddaughter toy, which she still calls a dryper ball.

How odd. Our dryer balls have spikes all around them (making them look like the depictions of a Covid virus) and you always put two in the machine
