A lot of images taken at street level in the urban environment don't always qualify as what you might call street. They might be described as urban scenes, visions, impressions, fragments, designs, environments, juxtapositions, landscapes, streetscapes, cityscapes...but for simplicity's sake let's just call them Urban Images.

To avoid repitition of images from across the hall, I'll go to my trusty Ricoh CX1 for some examples;

Nic,
Thanks for this. This idea should help feed inspiration to those slightly intimidated to do street.
You are the Urban Master Image Generator.
Thanks my friend... Don

I rarely do eye-level "street" because I have a bit of a thing about intrusion (and no I will not get on the couch about this) but I do like the impact of humanity in photographs ... hmm starting not to make sense ... whatever ... really liked Nic's thread(s) on this over at mu-43 and glad he's accepted my nudge to initiate one here .... anyway, looked through my Flickr stream and found less than 1% would fit, but then I suppose I live in a rural environment so perhaps not surprising.
Shall I just STFU and post something? Well yes ... I love this photograph ... the blonde is planned, the blue is serendipitous ... I think it's urban enough ...

there is just something weirdly (and wondefully) "hyperreal" about those GRD shots, will ... I've noticed this clarity and transparency before ... works so with this sort of content ... yum

Yeah, those really are quite nice - partly camera and largely photographer, but the IQ is mostly camera and its stunning for such a small sensor. Must be a great match with the lens. Makes me think about selling the LX-5 (it seems to be largely out of a job) and getting one of those. But I'm gonna have to spend some time with the X100 before I go off buying more stuff. I've got the classic 28mm field of view covered eight ways till Sunday (as one might say) and I'm gonna have a tough time justifying another (even to myself). But I'm very impressed with what I've seen from it. Maybe because its such an unknown camera that it only falls into the hands of good photographers and there's very little crap floating around from it?
