I posted in the boats thread a picture of a submarine converted to an apartment so as to demonstrate just how far the canal areas of London have been transformed through the decades and here's another example. You can see the original properties in the middle painted in to blend with the considerably newer apartments and office block.

I was thinking Nikon should have done a Z lens for 50mm like they have with the 28/40mm focal lengths but your E series lens adapted seems to be the answer. Sorry, just doing some future planning here....
If Nikon made a 50 SE like the 28/40mm's, I'd already have one! But then I'd be pining for an aperture ring...

My next steps are starting to point towards Sony E-mount – the FE 50mm f/2.5 G and an E to Z adapter. It's actually compact, it does have an aperture ring, and while only f/2.5 is still fast enough for me.

There is kind of an option to get there (to a degree): the TTArtisan 50mm f/2. Dirt cheap, optically adequate - but above all, small and usable (oh, and it does have an aperture ring, too).

I own that lens, but frankly, I'm enjoying the Z 40mm f/2 SE too much to use it a lot. And optically, it certainly can't hold a candle to newer lenses. The 50mm f/1.8 E (of which I own the successor, the first version of the 50mm f/1.8 Ai-S pancake) is a better lens, but, once you factor in the adapter, not particularily small anymore. Still, it's a solid option.

Strange little arrangement ... most of all, the hoop: There's literally no space from where to sensibly throw a ball, and I could dunk into this one without a stretch or a jump (I'm 5'5", for the record).

The sign says "Culture Night"; there's kind of a hang-out round the corner, but it looked deserted and somewhat derelict - but that's probably me not being up on how to put up a party venue nowadays.
