I haven’t read the comments yet, but I think it’d be a great idea. Imagining a full frame Pen-F (Drool). One could pair it with those Sigma I-Series lenses until Oly can bring out their own lineup.
I do agree that Olympus could have made a nice FF camera. However, this is a new company with some of Oly’s engineers. Do they have the R&D budget to pull it off? Of course the FF Market is really competitive. Even as an L mount, how many cameras could they realistically hope to sell to make this all worthwhile?
I said a few years back that Olympus could make a pretty OM1 lookalike, featuring the original OM mount.
I think there are big benefits to a mount alliance.
Maybe OM-Digital even selects to go the way of Leica? Carve up a nice niche and not care so much about the market share? Small focus is sustainable as shown by Leica.
