Critique Wanted This or that?

As often happens, I took two substandard compositions. Some crop usually helps but now I have trouble choosing which one has better potential.

But never mind which one is currently better composed, do you see potential in for example making a narrow 9:16 crop from the right one?

Yes, as long as no flower is half in and half out of the composition. Box it (the composition) in, not partially cut things out.

It's different if there were a lot more flowers and you're doing your best to tidy up the composition.

In your photos, there is a very finite and controllable number of flowers in it. Half chopping one out of the frame is more obvious in this context.

Also, there is more unbalanced space in the photo to the right that you definitely have scope to crop, to box in some of that space.
