But I'm damned if I can figure out what exactly it might be.
The rust makes me think it's part of a boat...? Or....?

I'm using more or less the same subject matter - a small notebook and a pen - that I used for my SiS shot today. But a different camera - and a detail from a different page in the notebook.

Thanks for the compliment, Miguel. It's a detail of a container for waste outside the high school where was teaching the last three years before I retired. The building has been completely renovated over the last two years and all the debris is collected in big containers before being transported away by lorries. Funny how just a bit more than a square meter can change an otherwise ugly object into something worth looking at.
