On a bird walk this morning with a group of local birders, I spotted an acorn woodpecker, busily using his beak to shove acorns into partially-dead tree trunk which is where he deposits acorns, which will later be eaten during the long cold winter.

Though it's great with it's tones I still prefer the colour version.
But that's because I love the colors of the blossoms ... and of these lovely creatures.
I do sometimes make a b&w of flowers ... mostly when they are white. Just a personal matter of taste.
