It's by no means the most technologically - or photographically - sophisticated or powerful camera that I own, but most of the time that I pick up my little Fujifilm X30, it just seems to spur me on... to frame shots I wouldn't try with other cameras. Part of it has do to with the macro capabilities of its tiny sensor, but part of it is just je ne sais quoi, an indefinable something which I respond to.
This tiny antique Japanese doll's head usually sits in the pencil jar on my desk, and in spite of the neutrality of her features, I can read all kinds of subtexts into the way she looks out at the human world around her---
