Supposedly, Imperial stout was a variety of English beer made for the Tsar of Russia, that needed to be brewed extra strongly for its taste to survive the long trip from England to Moscow. I'm not a stout connoisseur, but when I saw this label peeping out at me from dozens of more ordinary, cookie-cutter-style beer bottles, it stopped me in my tracks.

And out came the camera.

Some beer-label designer up in Québec (where this beer was brewed) had fun with this one.
