I wonder what birds think of human structures. They obviously love power lines. I know a species of swallow in CA evolved shorter wings so they could live in the underpasses and chase down flying insects but still avoid the cars.
I haven't been in the city of Portland, Oregon, for some time - really, not since the pandemic erupted last year. Seeing it today is a bittersweet experience - many establishments, stores and restaurants have gone out of business and their storefront windows are still empty, a testament to the hard times that many are still attempting to survive. But one also sees many survivors as well - including this small street-front Café in the city's Pearl District, where excellent coffee and pastries are available - for takeout only - and with an inventively non-traditional way of advertising their wares - as shown in their small store window--
