I was playing with the Minolta 50mm f/1.4, wide open. Manual focus on the eyes. Judging from the magnified view in the EVF, depth of field was about 1/8th inch or less (heads are about 2.5 inches tall).

The lens is a bit soft and dreamy wide open and suffers from some longitudinal chromatic aberration (red/green fringing, suppressed in this image). It cleans up pretty nicely by f/2.8.

I am pretty slow when manual focusing, so my subject must be either very patient (uncommon) or inanimate (the norm).
