I can totally relate to what you're saying, Matt - and to what you said as well, John.
And of course your (plural) words remind me of what Shakespeare said, so many moons ago:

Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow,
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day,
To the last syllable of recorded time...


I was on the point of saying something else - that occurred to me yesterday - but I can't for the life of me remember it today... maybe it'll come back to me tomorrow?
 
On this cold, gray morning in Oregon, the faded Tibetan prayer flags that hang from my front porch are, hopefully, a reminder of the compassion and good will that I imagine we all need. The answers (to the unspoken questions floating in my mind) are, as Bob Dylan once sang, "blowin' in the wind" ... just like this little flag is.
