We have a number of small birds who like to hide in our kiwi vines. Now that most of the leaves have fallen, we can sometimes see them (although it can be a challenge, as seen below).
Speaking of kiwi fruit, we harvested about 200, but there were still several dozen buried deep in the vines. To get them, I would have been working with pruners, about 8 feet high on the lattice top of the pergola, and without any secure support. In the end, my wife and I agreed that this seemed like a bad trade for a little bit of fruit, so they remained. You can make out about a dozen of them in this shot:
