The tree is around 900 years old and is virtually hollow.
Inside there is (was?) a photo of a group of small children stood inside it.

I don't know why, but the (original) Voigtländer Ultron 28mm f/2 mounted on the M8 always makes tree trunks and bark stand out magnificently ...
