Trees at Mt Lassen

This is a great thread. Some remarkable images...

Here are 3 trees, taken at different times, during visits to Mt. Lassen Volcanic National Park, in northern California.

The first is a dead tree, lying in an open alpine field.

The second, nearby, once was a tree and has now evolved into deadwood.

The third and last is of the trees which grow near, around and in Boiling Springs Lake, a lake whose volcanic-fed temperatures are literally boiling.
