I’m interested in this lens for my Fuji X-T2. Want to use it general photography snapshot type pictures (no landscapes) and family life.

I can find that it’s good ‘for the money’. But if that means that it’s just mediocre than I won’t use it in the long run, that’s a waste.

The 1.4 is not very important but nice to have for emergencies. I do need good quality in the center at f2.0.

I did own the fuji xf 23mm f2.0 but could not get over the hazyness close up. I used it a lot indoors up close for my kids.

Does anyone own the TTArtisan? Do you like to use it a lot?
How does it compare to the Fuji 2.0 for example?
Thanks!

Hey Paul
if you interested in picture with the 23mm F1.4 TTartisan, you may look at single in Novemer thread .
Starting Day 1

Irene use the lens at a Nikon fc while I used it at a X-A3

hey pljs, I like the angle 23mm TT F1.4 / 22mm Zonlai F1.8 on crop 1.5 like the 35mm 7artisan DJ Optical / Canon FD on the A7

you can see the blur (mud) in the corners, particularly clearly at the top left and right
With an aperture of f4/5 that is also gone
Attached is the usable 2/3 of the original image

Yes, I like the angle of view of the 21, 22 or 23 or 24 mm on the Crop 1.5 much better.
Even with the Canon EF in analog times, I liked the 35mm F2 more than the usual 50mm.
I don't belong to the generation that bought a camera with a 50s as a "usual kit lens", nor to the cell phone generation that is used to seeing everything with the angle of view of the 28mm KB.
If I only had three "angle requests" I would go for 21mm (or less) in the KB, the 35mm would be "walking around" forever.
For portraits I would use a 75mm or 85mm or 90mm in f2 on the KB
Yes, I like the 23mm (35mm KB) in the most compact version I use the X-A1 with the 22mm F1.8 Zonlai which is always in the car.

TTartisan 23mm F1.4 @ f 5.6

So for me the 23mm is one that reproduces my “seeing” most naturally.
It shows the reflections in the shining light at the point where you notice them. It shows the angles and size ratios to each other in the correct (for me) ratio.
Others prefer to display the size ratios (from foreground to background) in 1:1 like every “normal lens” ( by definition slightly more diagonal of the format) does.
It makes half portraits and does a very good job of exposing the person from the background
yes, it works at the table with a large family party as well as in the countryside or the city.
It even has a "macro page" with the 20cm close limit !
