Leica Showcase TTArtisans 50mm F0.95

Brian

Product of the Fifties
Resistance is Futile. I like fast lenses. This one was $550 from Popflash, one of the best camera dealers in the country. I've bought and sold on consignment through them.
This is the "Titanium" finish version, which has a 62mm filter ring- as opposed to the 67mm filter of the standard lens.
Maybe people just don't like Titanium finish- this was about $200 less than the standard one. My "Other" 50mm F0.95 lens is the Canon 50/0.95, cost me $200 some 20 years ago. Prices are up.
With this lens- no need to convert the Canon, I use it on the Nikon Z5.

First impressions of this lens, which I will revisit- not as sharp as the 50/1.0 Nokton, I believe it has more CA than the Nokton.
SO- 50/1.0 is perfect on the M9, and I optimized this one for the M Monochrom using the adjustable Cam. Optimized for use with a Yellow-2 filter, which cuts the CA to the point that it is insignificant.

I take lenses to the Marine Museum at Quantico- constant lighting, and lifelike figures.

Wide-Open. This lens will focus down to 0.7m. It does not have floating elements, the 50/1 Nokton has the advantage. It also cost 3x as much.

All wide-open.
It has an aperture ring. I used it.
But not for these.
