The better half and I were walking on the North side of Peebles Island, NY, when we saw a group of about a dozen guys coming the other way. "Have you seen any eagles?" my wife asked. No, they had not.
We had just passed them when one called: "Ma'am? There's a hawk right there." He points. Not 15 feet away on a low branch.
