I don’t get to shoot architecture much, but knowing where I was headed, I grabbed the EM1 and the 9-18 as my solo lens for the trip. Featured is Union Station in Kansas City, MO (USA), which was the once the big hub when ”by train” was the primary long-distance travel option, apparently the 3rd largest of its kind in the country. You can still catch an Amtrak here, but the building has been mostly repurposed when it was restored, where it serves as an rotating exhibit hall, has shops and restaurants, and also features “Science City” as a family destination. One wing of the grand interior can be rented for various purposes. I went to a conference here years ago, and they threw a 1920s Prohibition Era themed party. Very cool.

I wasn’t able to shoot the front entrance, but here’s entering from the side, where you can see how the old and new architecture were combined. From the front, it’s entirely a beaux-arts facade. I decided to go B&W with this set.
