Very cool shot! And welcome! I think this site has some of the best layout of any photography site, much like Mu-43, and yes, its main strength is how diverse it can be without being segmented off like, say, DPReview forums are. If you want to post in depth M4/3 stuff, there's a forum for it; if you want to ramble about GAS-related things M4/3 or otherwise, those things have their place and don't have to be relegated to a single system forum (we have a "GAS" thread tag and everything!); if you're looking for places to post photos, all of the showcase threads are there but the thematic threads are even better. My first post on this site like others I have drifted over from m4/3. Really enjoy the fact that the formats are very similar but a little broader in the terms of gear.

I think I've been shooting with this theme for a little while without realizing it. Slightly older:

Thanks Miguel, I appreciate those words a lot. I think it's a concept I want to work on for some time. My idea is to combine the documentary tradition of photographers like Walker Evans with something a little like Daido Moriyama and the grainy, gritty style of street photography emanating from Tokyo in the 60s. That has a bit of a William Gibson cyberpunk vibe that I think accurately reflects the "feel" of modern life. So I think it's a style that comes naturally because it doesn't feel artificial to me, but rather a direct, natural flow from the sensations of life to an aesthetic that works.Brilliant series of images and photographs, Andrew.
Fantastic! Very fitting indeed. So MoonMind suggested to me that one of my photos might be suited for this thread and, upon reading the description, I feel like I have quite a few photos that bring on feelings of existential unease. I wonder if that's one of the things that I'm sub-consciously looking for when I go on my photo walks? Anyways, here are 3 to start:

There's something jarring about something this well dressed couple standing in front of a public toilet.
