Documentary Urban Unquiet - Modern Dystopia

I was hesitant to post this but I think it suits the theme and, at least in my view, it's not a gratuitous bit of slum porn. In some parts of the city where I walk, there are huge numbers of un-housed people and drug addicts. My personal rule is to avoid photographing them unless their pose, interaction or expression is genuinely interesting; in other words, I apply the same criteria to the un-housed that I do to anyone else. But coming across this person openly shooting up on a busy sidewalk actually surprised me and raised the bar on the drug activity I've seen in this area and so I snapped this frame.
this is an image of everyday life going on around us - there is no need to censor yourself for the benefit of the decent part of society

One aspect of modern dystopia not shown so far is the total disappearance of architectural variation in our towns. Except for the two or three "remains" from former centuries many of our towns look more or less the same. You would not know where you are ... were it not for some left-over architecture of our ancestors in between the boredom of uniformity - little boxes vs. buildings with soul.

Very unsettling, but speaks volumes on the theme.
