I never met Tom in person, we exchanged posts on the Net and Email.
One day I opened my mail box to find a little packet from Canada, a Contax external mount to Leica screwmount adapter. Tom included a note, thought the adapter interesting- sent it to me. I still use it to set the shim on Contax and S-Mount lenses.
He expressed an interest in shooting with a Jupiter-3, I sent him a nice one. Several years ago I bought a number of "Menopta 53/1.8" lenses in Kiev mount from Russia, shimmed them for Nikon RF's. Tom couldn't resist getting one- it was obscure. Liked the thought of Tom shooting with lenses that I modified.
Tom was unique, a talented photographer and innovator. Today is a sad day.
