DAY 20 - Interestingly, it was DAY 10 in the previous thread that I felt oppressed and without capacity to keep up with daily rhythm - yes, I know nobody imposed it but myself - and today I found myself in the same spot, muscling a shot just not to break the pace. Shot with Minolta MD 50mm f1.4 lens mounted via speedbooster on Sony A6000:

This lady is a local comedian who came in to our big shoot to do head shots and a funny shot for promoting her act. In talking with her, I learned that she, like many women, is plagued by body image issues. Unbeknownst to her, I used to do a project for women with low self esteem. So I immediately started talking with her about it. And eventually we did a few full body shots. One the things I hate most in modern society is people being made to feel ashamed of who they are.

As I recall, I said I'd allow myself to backfill in missed days with film photos, since I can't post film every day. By my count I need four photos to bring myself current, so here are some from a recent walk with my Voigtlander Bessa T and 35mm f2.5 Skopar. HP5+ shot at ISO 800 (not necessary for this walk, but I had already shot a few shots at pushed ISO, so I decided it didn't really matter), scanned and slightly tweaked for increased contrast and blacks/whites.

DAY 21 - I confess, two thirds into this challenge and shooting regularly for it became oppressive. I found myself in a place where photography became almost the opposite of what it means to me usually - a creative outlet without pressure to produce, meat deadlines and oblige clients; just a personal joy of observing and exploring the world and myself in it. Now with an (self imposed) obligation to have at least kinda pretty if not strong or meaningful image each day, I felt overwhelmed and tired and had to kick myself in the butt to get at it once again. I argued with my grumpy self that, even if I decide to drop everything, it would be beneficial to at least stretch the legs, and that by just strolling the streets for an hour or so I'm bound to stumble on something intriguing... And I did. Shot with Minolta MD 50mm f1.4 lens mounted via speedbooster on Sony A6000:

Not every shot has to be pretty. Learning to be okay with this, I’ve found, can be quite good for your soul.
