Hi :)

I guess this unique lens has passed unnoticed in here:
Some samples:
And short video:

What do You guys think?
Im very intrigued about this new Voigtlander 35/0.9, but the price is so high..

Like all their other lenses, there's no bad Voigtlander, it's sort of a given and without having even used it I'm 99% sure that's the case with this lens. I have seen one or two comments from m43 users stating that the 10.5mm F0.95 is not all that but even then I'd have to see/ use it before I could believe that. They release a lens and we know without doubt it's going to be good so perhaps that's why there's not that much comment. Two issues for Voigtlander in selling this lens though; 1) there's a Mitakon of the same focal length and aperture which is apparently very good and a lot cheaper and 2) if you own the Fuji 35mm F1.4 you might not feel compelled to own any other lens of that focal length, well at least that's the way I felt. Maybe these are factors in why no one here appears to have one and is able to comment on it? Regardless though, I'm sure if you had this Voigtlander lens, you'd be very happy.

Hard to not agree with everything You wrote, Mitakon 35/0.95 is very strong competition for CV 35/0.9, but when I would pick up one premium manual lens for my Fuji camera, I would always choose Voigtlander lenses simply because they have full electronic communication with the camera - at least their new releases, like CV Nokton 23/1.2, 35/1.2, 35/2 macro and recently Nokton 50/1.2
And I very much like to back to my pictures from time to time and check in exif data camera and lens settings.

Second thing is clickless aperture ring in Mitakon... I just don't like clickless aperture rings in manual lenses at all (for photography at least)
Buying such expensive and premium fully manual lens, like Voigtlander 35/0.9 should give as much joy as I do expect from such unique lens.
It includes all possible tactile feedback, like clicks on aperture rings or premium feel of buttery smooth focus ring, overall build quality and used materials.
1500$ manual lens has to be fully electronic connected to the camera, for exif data and all manual focusing assists features imo ;)
My 3 cents.

I just purchased this lens, and I also own the Mitakon 35/0.95mkii, and the Fuji 33/35 1.4 lenses.
Being that I tend to use this focal range for paid work in very dimly lit cigar lounges, for companies such as Glenfiddich inside of speakeasies, I tend to grab my Mitakon over the Fuji lenses 95% of the time due to the Mitakon being able to handle those lower lighting conditions with ease, as where the Fuji lenses (when relying on AF) tend to let me down quite often.
My reason for purchasing the Voigtlander 35/0.9 is #1 the lowlight capabilities, #2 the aperture ring is clicked (the Mitakon constantly moves), and #3 the Voigtlander build quality.
Though the Mitakon is by far my favorite Fujifilm X lens (closely followed by the Fuji 50/1.0) the build quality from Mitakon is quite suspect.
I've personally had 4 copies of the lens over a 5 year period, and I always recommend that folks get the extended warranty when purchasing that lens because you never know.
From the rear caps not fitting to the entire lens falling completely apart, it's a crap shoot with Mitakon.
Being that the Mitakon produces images in those dimly lit settings and I continue to get hired from the work produced with that lens in such settings, purchasing the very well-built Voigtlander with even more light-gathering capability was the way to go for me.

Wow, it is first time I hear that Mitakon lenses can take some damage by just using them.
There is common opinion on internet, that fully manual lenses are basically indestructible 😅 (very, very well made - no AF motors etc)
But I will take Your words for granted, it will only ensure me to pickup Voigtlander over Mitakon.

Can You show some real life photos in high res from CV 35/0.9 ?
Some people shots or portraits?
I would love to see this lens in action, because it will take me some time to get 1500$ for this baby 😁

I wonder whether this may be another reason for the quiet reaction, not so much because of the price brand new but because you can get a superb used Voigtlander lens for your system for about 25-30% of that, hence not many takers for the new lens.
I think it has to do with the limited amount of reviews and the fact that you can only pre-order it at B&H.
When researching the lens, all the video reviews are non English and the press release date is also confusing to many.
On FujiRumors it states it'll be released in late August, but B&H says it's available September 15th, so I really think it comes down to the lack of proper marketing for us all to be able to make an informed decision on whether or not it fits our needs.
Also on FujiRumors, they have a direct link to Amazon and Adorama pre-orders but when you click those links, the lens is not available...it's only available through B&H at the moment.
I had to really dig deep to find reviews, and I had to translate the Cosina/Voigtlander site to English and even then, the translation was subpar at best.

Once I receive the lens, I'll be doing a full video review of the lens, as well as a side-by-side results test versus the Voigtlander 35/0.9-Mitakon 35/0.95mkii-Fuji 35/1.4-Fuji 33/1.4

Yes, as soon as it's delivered, I'll use it for a portrait session and share my findings here.

Damn! 😳 In that case Im rally looking forward to check Your review + sample images!
It will be very interesting to watch.
Probably one and only such review in the internet!

I think that's one of the reasons why the reactions so far were fairly... quiet. To be honest I almost forgot about this lens until very recently and just checked it is indeed available in Germany, for a whopping EUR 1749,-. Just to get some reference, the Voigtländer 35 f1.2 is EUR 649, the 23mm Nokton is EUR 699 and Fujifilm's portrait big boy, the 50mm f1.0 is EUR 1299.

So the newest Nokton is a very expensive gear of kit, I am pretty sure buyers at this price point really must know they are going to need it or they might really be using it professionally, like sirmarlondenon.

Yeah, just because new releases are coming out it doesn’t stop the older and cheaper Voigtlander lenses at 25% to 50% of the price of the new ones, used, remaining great. The 58mm F1.4 for F Mount (easily adapted to other systems) being a case in point. You know what you’re getting with these lenses whether old or new.

yukosteel has provided us some full resolution sample images from CV 35/0.9 + X-T5 combo 😁

Thank you for honestly sharing the photos taken with the Nokton 35mm f0.9
After zooming photo (taken with the Nokton) in for review, I found the mitakon 35mm f0.95 mark II not bad.

I don't even want to own the fujinon xf33mm f1.4 because I already have the mitakon f0.95 +1 stop aperture if compared to f1.4 which for sure when shooting at night will give me more emotions.

Luckily for me I saw the pictures you shared, thank you for this.
Have a nice day.
