trees are often places in which offerings are left - , rags and ribbons or even small dolls can sometimes be found, remnants of paganism living today ...
Well Paul this is obviously the local beacon point for the alien ships to alight (trees are customary for this purpose) and we all know that passengers will need their aluminium hats firmly in place prior to boarding. So it all make utter sense to me.
Well Paul I see little in the way of other votive offerings, such as charred and punctured plastic bottles or six inch long pieces of water hose, so have to assume it is not a site for sacred smoke rituals but is - in fact - an inter-galactic way-point....though some will argue that these are not necessarily mutually exclusive
it is exactly a roll of aluminium foil ... unfortunately not for the fashioning of tinfoil hats or the attracting of extraterrestrial voyagers ... it'll have been stashed there by heroin users for smoking off the foil (no-one except Hollywood calls it "chasing the dragon" these days) ...
Ah. I didn't realize. Truly a different kind of votive, Paul. Thank you for this, though I am sad about it. I would have removed it and taken it with me, though I know that wouldn't change much.
