I spotted this absolute beauty in a Gloucestershire village while we were cycling.
It was obviously prepared ready for a wedding.

I was especially interested as it has an original Pembrokeshire number plate.
And eagle-eyed amongst you may have noticed that there's another VW lurking in the garage behind!

A few years ago I got talking to the owner of a VW camper van at an outdoor event. It was one of the old ones with a tilting windscreen in two sections, like the example seen two posts up. I asked him if he ever drove it with the windscreen up in warm weather. He said that he did, and then showed me a red mark on the middle of his forehead where he had recently struck a bumble bee while travelling at speed on the highway. "It ****ing hurt, too," he said, with feeling.

1967/68 registration? I had an F Beetle that I bought new in 1968!
I think it pre-dates the number plate Charles.
My first car ( in 1970) was a 1959 beetle (reg: 5015 NG) and I later bought a new one in 1972 reg: EKF 108 L).
Incidentally, I bought the first one for £80 and sold it for £75 and bought the later one for £850 and sold it eight years later for £600!
